Units of Time

28 Jan

Lucas is rather interested in time these days.  Unfortunately, he continues to have no grasp whatsoever on how long minutes, hours, days, weeks or years actually are… for example, he’ll say “Mom, can I have peanut butter and jelly next year?” instead of asking for it tomorrow.

We hear his time challenges most often when he is recounting stories of the past.  He’ll say “remember when we went to the beach last week, that was fun” (instead of last year…) or “I really liked playing soccer last year” (instead of last week).

He has taken to wearing a watch occasionally which only adds to the time hijinks.
