Six Weeks

3 Sep

When he’s hungry, he pecks me like a chicken looking for feed..  And, his head still bobbles around in that undeniably “I was just born” fashion.  But, his little legs are chunking up – less skinny chicken legs and more a completely nom-nom-able appetizer.  His thighs aren’t the only part of him that is rounding out — his cheeks are fuller, his arms starting to show rubber band rolls around the wrists.

At six weeks old, he’s the perfect blend of newborn and infant.  We can’t confidently say that he is smiling with purpose at this point… but we know he knows us.  His eyes track us around the room – brightening and widening when he catches glimpses of his wild older brother. He kicks feverishly — so much like his brother — until his little seat bounces without our help or until his toys sway above him.  He still sleeps a lot – but not without a fight.  He’d rather stay awake and watch us – our little baby bird peering up and out at the chaotic world all around him.

He’s lovely… and utterly loved.MommyBen DaddyBenjamin
