Once we arrived back from Maryland….

Me to Tim, “The word of the weekend was ‘hassock.’  I could totally tell you had never heard that word before. What would you call that piece of furniture?”

Tim: “I would call it an ottoman.”

Me: “I think you would probably call it a foot stool; an ottoman is bigger.”

Tim: “Well, I certainly just wouldn’t make a word up for it.”

Tell Tim that “hassock” is a Maryland word, like I live in Meralin, down by the creek (not crick), under the roof (not ruff). It’s a lot like hominy.

    Why isn’t there a “pockey-book” or a “banana-cut” in sight!!!
