Like a Fish to Water

1 Jul

That’s pretty much how Luke has taken to the pool.  And this Mama is thrilled because she needs a swimming buddy.  Although, I could do with a little less spastic flailing, splashing, and attempted bathing suit removal (of my suit, may I add).  Amazing that those traits sound an awful lot like his father…

Here’s little stink all ready to head to our first swim class of the year:

Luke is learning to kick his legs and arms in the water.  Mama is learning that she doesn’t know any of the words to common (and uncommon) nursery rhymes that we sing during class.  Poor Luke has to hear Mama’s made up verses while all the other mothers sing along poetically to each and every song. Yes, hello inferiority complex.

He loved swimming at Gigi’s pool last weekend.  And, there was great speculation that we could have let him go and he would have paddled along the length of the pool.  We didn’t, of course, but that didn’t stop him from dunking his own head – more than once.

Now, if only we could teach Daddy how to float…

I wish there was a “like” button for you post, Meghan. I can’t ever even remember what the lizard is doing after the class… I called the song jumping lizard today.
